Thank you Ag
To the industry that shaped me… THANK YOU!
From 4-H, to showing cattle, to volunteering - thank you will probably never be enough. Through agriculture, there has been so much I have learned along the way and continue to learn on a daily basis. There is no better industry to be apart of and I am so grateful that I was raised with it in my blood.
The impact this industry has on us does not go unnoticed, but not only do we need to thank the people that got us involved in this industry, we need to thank the industry itself:
Thank you Ag and 4H for,
1. Making me a strong, independent woman -
This industry can sure throw some curve balls at you and keep you on your toes, but God wouldn’t put anyone through something they couldn’t handle. We are taught to stay strong, and never count on something to go right all the time.
“But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength.” 2 Timothy 4:17
2. Showing me that hard work does pay off -
Those early mornings, late nights don’t go unnoticed whether it is at a cattle show or some kind of agriculture related event. People will notice the amount of time and effort you have put into something, and it is the greatest feeling in the world when someone takes time to come up to you and tells you their selves that they have noticed you.
Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will” –John 13:7
3. Bringing some of the greatest blessings in my life -
The friendships run deep in this industry, they’re strong and they last a lifetime. There is nothing like arriving to a cattle show and seeing those people you call family. Not only do you meet great friends, but also relationships can form. (Disclaimer; for those of you who don’t know I met my boyfriend eight years ago at a cattle show. He started helping me carry my dividers to my trailer without introducing himself to me first. Now, years later here we are!)
“A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.” –Proverbs 27:9
4. Showing me that you cannot make everyone happy -
At the end of the day, you cannot please everyone. You’ll leave a show or an event of some kind with people who are upset that you won or upset with a decision that you agreed with and they didn’t. Don’t stop what you are doing because of a few people that are in your “booing” section instead of your cheering section. A wise man once told me “you aren’t doing something right if you dhave people watching your every move”.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to you.” –James 1:5 (NIV)
5. Being an inspiration –
There are SO many agvocates out there that I look up to, that I only wish to someday make an impact on the industry like they have. I strive to continue to grow in this industry every day by helping the youth and other agvocates whenever possible.
“Cling to what is good.” –Romans 12:9
I am so excited to see where this industry takes my family and myself in life. I know our future is bright and it is all thanks to this… agriculture.
Thank you again, ag!
